Decision makers drafting the future single internal energy market of the EU imagine future energy end consumers as an actively engaged group who makes use of current technologies and market opportunities. Competition of suppliers, energy independency, electricity microgeneration and sustainable energy consumption habits: how much is this a reality and how much a dream for Hungarian end consumers? What possibilities do domestic end consumers have to relate to the aforementioned tendencies, and what factors inhibit them from doing so?
