Concerning the mechanism for monitoring the Community greenhouse-gases (GHG) emissions and for implementing the Kyoto protocol, the European Commission requires the Member States to provide a Biannual Report on its updated GHG emissions and projections, and on the implemented and planned policies to achieve the GHG national targets. The aim of this project was to elaborate this report. It includes:

• Information on national policies and measures which limit and/or reduce greenhouse gas emissions by sources or enhance removals by sinks;
• National projections of greenhouse gas emissions by sources and their removal by sinks up till 2025; The projections are based on REKK modelling and on previous REKK work carried out in this field (e.g. Energy Strategy, 20-30 % GHG reduction study)
• Information on measures being taken or planned for the implementation of relevant Community legislation and policies.
