Impact of the development of the Mátra Power Plant on the electricity and heat marketUploaded: 1 of December, 2021

Two areas were considered in the analysis. On the one hand, we analyse the impact of the closure of the lignite blocks of the Mátra Power Plant and the entry of potential new generation capacity from Mátra on the domestic electricity market, including wholesale prices and security of supply, under different domestic electricity market scenarios. We also analyse the potential profitability of different Mátra developments and the impact of other potential domestic gas-fired power plant investments on the return on these investments. The analysis is carried out using a European Power Market Model (EPMM) developed by REKK, covering the electricity system of 40 European countries with a 168-hour time horizon, simulating different world states and development paths.
