The Russian - Ukrainian war, that started February 2022 has increased the possibility of a gas supply cut to a serious risk in Hungary. In our analysis we assessed different options of energy storage that could help to sustain partly or entirely the production in case of a shorter (2-3 weeks) outage. For the mid- to long term we reviewed the options that could both supply the energy security and the decarbonization goals with the lowest cost.
