The analysis is part of a larger project with the ultimate goal of making recommendations for the development of Austrian renewable auctions. In the research, REKK examines the characteristics of eight European CfD-based renewable auction systems, identifying best practices that could be beneficial for Austria. The research focuses on three main areas: the detailed regulations of the CfD system, the regulation of the relationship between auctions and PPAs, and how the design can encourage renewable producers to consider market price signals more closely. In addition to the comparative analysis, the study includes three country case studies (Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Spain), where the research questions are examined in greater depth.
