REKK, in cooperation with KEMA was commissioned by the Hungarian Energy Office in 2011 to prepare a study on regional electricity and natural gas market sin Europe, the roadmaps and target models for a common European eenergy market and the possible integration strategy for Hungary. The first study focused on electricity markets: presented and evaluated the possible pathways of regional market development, target models for capacity calculation and other sub-markets (day-ahead market, intra-day market, long term capacit ymarket, balancing energy market), possible timing of day-ahead market coupling and offered recommendations for the market integration strategy of Hungary. The second study analysed the most relevant points of the CEER 2010-2011 natural gas market integration paper, presented the prerequisites of the tools of integration, showed the possible outcomes and realisation potential and offered recommendations for the market integration strategy of Hungary.
