Analysis
Environmental and Social Sustainability in TransportUploaded: 16 of March, 2026

The research examined transport policy interventions that can simultaneously advance environmental and social sustainability objectives. It analysed the causes and spatial patterns of transport deprivation in Hungary and reviewed good practices and policy approaches that may help address these challenges while contributing to the reduction of transport-related pollutant and carbon emissions. The results highlight policy options that can support the development of a more sustainable and equitable transport system.

The preliminary results of the research were discussed in a workshop on February 4, 2025, to support policy dialogue on specific types of measures and planning dilemmas.

The study is available in Hungarian.
