Location: Aranytíz Event Hall, Tolnay auditorium, 1051 Budapest, Arany János utca 10.

The regional energy policy forum organised by the Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research, CUB (REKK), the European Commission and the REKK Foundation has discussed the new phase of electricity market integration proposed by the European Commission's 'Clean Energy for all Europeans' package.

The main topics of the event were intraday and balancing market integration, cross-border reserve-sharing, cross-border integration of capacity markets and the much stronger regional cooperation of TSOs. These are all key elements of the proposal and together, if implemented, could potentially bring electricity market integration to the next level ('Electricity Market Integration 2.0').

The objective of the 2nd Central and South East Europe Energy Policy Forum was to bring together decision makers and industry representatives from the CSEE region to discuss the next steps of electricity market integration in this region.

The sections were the following:

  • Potential benefits of regional integration: markets and institutions
  • Resource adequacy and cross-border capacity remuneration schemes: options and alternatives
  • The future of regulated retail electricity prices in CSEE

Venue: Aranytíz Event Hall, Tolnay auditorium, 1051 Budapest, Arany János utca 10.
