Power-to-Gas technologies and their relevance to the energy sector18 of February, 2020 - 16.00-18.30 REKK Energy Futures VII.
Location: Corvinus University Budapest, Faculty Club, 1093 Budapest Fővám tér 8

The aim of the REKK Power-To-Gas Forum was the dissemination of the latest results of the P2G technology. We discussed the types of the P2G technologies and their potential usage. The event focused on the P2G technologies with methanation (Power-To-Methane). Leading experts from Europe presented their experiences with the pilot projects.

During the forum, we also presented the status of the pilot projects in Hungary and the competitiveness of the technology under different gas and electricity prices. After the presentations, participants of the round table discussion explored the future of the technology in Hungary and the potential obstacles.

Agenda:

16.00-16.20 Ágnes Törőcsik, Senior Researcher, REKK: The role of Power-To-Gas in the energy value chain and the LCOE values of different P2G solutions

16.20-16.35 Professor Dr. Michael Sterner, OTH Regensburg: Power-To-Gas technologies in the energy sector and their role in the fight against climate change (prerecorded video presentation)

16.35-17.00 Laurent Lardon, Process Engineer, Electrochaea (Denmark): The BioCat Project - a commercial-scale power-to-gas facility and its capabilities to provide energy storage services to the Danish energy system

17.00-17.25 Associate Professor Dr. Zoltán Csedő, Corvinus University, CEO of Power-to-Gas Hungary: The Hungarian P2G Deployment Scenarios – ongoing projects, plans and P2G technology operations experience in Hungary

17.25-18.30 Panel discussion on the prerequisites of the successful P2G uptake in Hungary (in Hungarian) Chaired by Balázs Felsmann, Senior Researcher, REKK

Opening: Annamária Fehér, Senior Strategy Expert and Advisor to CEO, Hungarian Gas Storage Ltd (MFGT), MVM Group
