Stakeholder consultation on electricity TSO tariff structures, incentives for flexibility and efficient investments1 of April, - 10:00 - 12:00 CET
Location: online

The EU’s electricity system is moving towards a network based on decentralised renewable generation, active customers and flexibility sources. Monitoring the status quo and future needs of the network and setting appropriate incentives for transmission system operators and grid users are key activities on the pathway to decarbonising the European energy system.

In this context, contracted by the European Commission, a consortium comprising Guidehouse, Cambridge Econometrics, Fraunhofer ISI and REKK is conducting a study to examine EU-27 practices. The study provides an overview of best practices, challenges, and relevant considerations regarding tariff regimes across Europe, particularly incentives for efficient investment, including the use of flexibility and other innovative solutions.

As part of preparing the final report, we shared the main problem areas and research conclusions highlighted by the study with interested stakeholders via an online workshop. The views expressed during the workshop help to ensure that the final report reflects the opinions of a broad range of market and social stakeholders.
