The aim of the project was to develop a textbook on the economic fundamentals and practical implementation of renewable energy regulation. The target audience is the group of INOGATE countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekhistan) as the project is developed within the framework contract of ERRA with the European Commission called “Capacity Building for sustainable energy regulation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia”. The textbook covers the following issues:

  • international and European climate change policies focusing on the EU emissions trading scheme,
  • renewable energy support scheme focusing on feed-in tariffs and green certificates, and
  • the role of smart metering and smart grids on future electricity systems.
