Primary solid biomass (PSB) is an important energy source in Europe and in the Visegrad Four (V4) countries alike. Biomass has remained the largest single renewable energy source in both the EU and the V4, despite the rapid growth of new renewable energy technologies such as PV and wind. Moreover, biomass energy has increased both in absolute and relative terms in the EU and even more so in the V4. Therefore, the V4ETTP Project decided to organise a workshop to discuss the sustainable use of biomass for energy in the V4 countries. This paper provides a summary of the workshop support material and the discussion.
